Abstract

Abstract: This study evaluates the implementation of Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM) on the operational performance of the sustainable textile industry through a systematic literature review approach. The objectives of this study are to analyze the influence of GSCM practices on operational efficiency, identify dominant factors affecting the success of implementation, and develop an evaluation model based on empirical synthesis from various studies conducted in developing countries. The research data were obtained from scientific articles, international journals, conference proceedings, and academic repositories that examine the relationship between GSCM and operational performance in the textile industry. The findings indicate that the implementation of GSCM consistently exerts a positive impact on operational performance, particularly in terms of cost efficiency, waste reduction, product quality improvement, and resource utilization optimization. Key practices such as green manufacturing, eco-design, green purchasing, and green logistics emerge as the most influential factors. In addition, organizational factors, including transformational leadership and management commitment, as well as technological factors such as digitalization and Industry 4.0 integration, significantly enhance the effectiveness of GSCM implementation. However, several barriers remain, including high initial investment costs, limited infrastructure, and insufficient technical competencies, which continue to hinder the optimal adoption of GSCM practices. The study also reveals that internal GSCM practices demonstrate a more consistent impact compared to external practices. In conclusion, GSCM represents a strategic approach capable of improving operational performance while simultaneously supporting the overall sustainability of the textile industry.
